Michael Amante
Michael Amante may go by many different titles, the “People’s Tenor,” the “Prince of High C’s,” the “Voice of the Mets” but one thing that everyone can agree on is the overwhelming power of his voice. Prepare to be astounded by classical vocalist, Michael Amante and his 9-piece orchestra, performing pieces from Puccini’s Tosca and Bernstein’s West Side Story. Praised by the likes of Pavarotti and Tony Bennett, Amante has been lauded as “one of the greatest voices ever heard.”
Michael got his start in New York at
the young age of 6, playing Oliver in a production at his Catholic school. He
grew up making a local name for himself doing Foreigner impersonations in biker
bars on the New York State Thorough-way. Michael’s love of opera blossomed when
a choir director in upstate New York introduced him to legendary Swedish tenor
Jussi Björling. Along the way, Michael attracted the attention of opera-legend
Luciano Pavarotti who encouraged him in his pursuit of classical performance. The rest is history.
