Ordinary Days ~ A Musical

Ordinary Days, tells the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfillment, happiness, love and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Ordinary Days is an original musical for anyone who's ever struggled to appreciate the simple things in a complex place. With equal doses of humor and poignancy, it celebrates how 8.3 million individual stories combine in unexpected ways to make New York City such a unique and extraordinary home.

The Story:  When Deb loses her most precious possession--the notes to her graduate thesis--she unwittingly starts a chain of events that turns the ordinary days of four New Yorkers into something extraordinary. Told through a series of intricately connected songs and vignettes, Ordinary Days is an original musical about growing up and enjoying the view.

The show is a reminder to treasure the "ordinary days”, events and relationships that teach us to grow even stronger relationships that are able to face the "extraordinary".  It focuses on the difficulties of making and maintaining relationships and remaining committed to those connections as they are tested.  It focuses on seeing the beauty in the ordinary.  It happens to include the 9/11 tragedies as an obstacle to one character’s search for future happiness.   A pinnacle moment is reached as she tells of the events of that day in the song “I’ll Be Here”.
