Arlo Guthrie
As the eldest son of folk singer/songwriter Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie grew up with a strong musical legacy. He made his first public performance at the tender age of 13, and quickly began to create a legacy of his own, with hits that would include “Alice’s Restaurant,” “City of New Orleans” and “Coming Into Los Angeles.”
In addition to his accomplishments as a musician – playing the piano, six and twelve-string guitars, harmonica and a dozen other instruments – Guthrie is at heart a natural storyteller, whose hilarious tales and timeless anecdotes are woven seamlessly into his performances. In 2008 Guthrie released “Lost World,” his first collection of new songs in 12 years. His performance at the Lyric is a stop on The Lost World Tour, which also features Guthrie’s son, Abe, and the Burns Sisters.
