If swing is your thing, then this show is for you! Director Paul Francis and his Kings of Swing Orchestra are introducing the 1930s American musical genre to a whole new generation. Looked upon as royalty, their 'coolness' reigns supreme, featuring some of the best swing vocalists performing throughout Europe. Kings of Swing celebrates the greatest hits of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole and more recently hits by Michael Buble, Paulo Nutini and Brian Setzer including : “Mr Bojangles”, “Mack The Knife”, “Fly Me To The Moon”, “Moondance”, “Everybody Loves Somebody”, “That’s Amore”, “I Get A Kick Out Of You”, “Beyond The Sea”, “New York New York” and many more. The contemporary swing group also performs more modern swing hits for an exciting blend of authentic and modern swing music.
The original “Kings of Swing” orchestra first performed at the famous Blackpool Tower in Lancashire, England. Within a year, the swing musicians had played to over a quarter of a million people in the United Kingdom alone. Now, the talented vocalists are traveling the world, receiving rave reviews for their professionalism and top-notch technical ability. The Kings of Swing offer a little bit for everyone. They present the classics faithfully for those with a nostalgic flair and the new hits for listeners who love the new breed of swing. The orchestra’s director, Paul Francis, has received attention from some of the biggest names in the media industry. Francis recently completed the score for best-selling writer and film director Terry Pratchett’s latest film, “The Colour of Magic.” His compositional techniques have been requested from some of the most renowned symphonies in the world, most recently ‘The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra’ and ‘The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.’
This is a slick, smooth talking, fast paced show which will whisk you off to Vegas before you can say “JD on the Rocks”. Once the dice have rolled, the band strikes up, and anything can happen!
