The Machine Performs Pink Floyd

Paying tribute to the seminal band Pink Floyd is about more than playing the music. For more than 30 years, The Machine has extended the legacy of Pink Floyd while creating their own legacy and making the songs their own. The New York-based band focuses on making every show an authentic Floydian experience for the fans. The Machine is known for performing a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems.

While founding members Joe Pascarell (guitar, vocals) and Tahrah Cohen (drums) and long-time stage mates Stephen Bard (bass, vocals) and Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals) are top-flight musicians, The Machine has also been about the dramatic lighting and video. In fact, special shows include lasers from the same company that provides classic Pink Floyd laser effects for Roger Waters and David Gilmour tours. The group explores collective improvisation that parallels the work of early 1970s Pink Floyd, and their use of theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays continues in the spirit of later Floyd lineups of the 1980s. The Machine is also known for recreating entire albums as part of the show, accepting requests from fans and going from A-Z, with one song for each letter of the alphabet.

The Machine has performed at theaters, casinos and movie festivals including Bonnaroo, Riverbend and Gathering of the Vibes, Buffalo’s Artpark and Germany’s Rock of Ages. They have thrilled audiences in North America, Europe and Asia. The musicians have also shared the stage with the Atlanta, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville and San Diego Symphonies and the Buffalo Philharmonic.
