The Four Italian Tenors
What’s better than four Italian tenors? Four Italian tenors honoring four Italian tenors who came before them: Caruso, Lanza, Pavarotti and Bocelli. The Four Italian Tenors: Alessandro D’Acrissa, Federico Serra, Federico Parisi and Giovanni Maria Palmia are making their United States debut in a program of the greatest tenor arias and songs, all done in arrangements created especially for their U.S. tour.
The tenors will bring to life arias from Rigoletto, La Boheme, and I Pagliacci, as well as beloved Italian songs such as “Volare,” “O Sole Mio,” and “Granada.” They will sing the aria that is guaranteed to bring tears to my eyes, “Nessun Dorma,” from Puccini’s Turandot.
The talented singers who bring this wonderful music to life have impressive biographies. Alessandro D’Acrissa graduated with honors in opera singing at the Conservatory of Cosenza. He has performed in operas throughout Italy and in 2013, he performed the role of Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. He was selected by the Pavarotti Foundation to take part in the show, Belcanto: The Pavarotti Heritage.
Federico Serra won his first pop music competition at 11 and his family enrolled him in singing lessons. At 17, he enrolled at the Liceo Musicale of Varese, specializing in opera singing and piano. In 2014, he made his debut at the Donizetti Theater in Bergamo, and in 2015 he performed with the Verona Philharmonic in concert.
Federico Parisi began studying voice at 14. In 2011, he won “The Youngest Tenor of Italy” award and in 2012, he was awarded the Citta di Taormina Prize. He performed concerts throughout southern Italy and in 2014, he broadened his horizons from classical music, opening for Italian pop music artists.
Giovanni Maria Palmia graduated in experimental opera singing at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory of Parma under the guidance of the M ^ Ilia Aramayo in 2014. In May 2015 he plays Gastone in "La Traviata ovvero La signora delle camelie" by Nanni Garella, in collaboration with Teatro Arena del Sole and Teatro Comunale of Bologna. In October 2016 he debuted with the role of Carlo Moor in the opera I masnadieri by Giuseppe Verdi, under the direction of M ° Simon Krečič directed by Leo Muscato, during the FESTIVAL VERDI 2016 in Parma, at the Teatro G. Verdi in Busseto. Production then resumed in April and May 2017.
This is a wonderful opportunity to hear this wonderful music, sung by gifted performers making their first tour of the United States. Years from now, you’ll be able to say you saw them when…
