Taking you back to a time when mood rings and bell bottoms reigned supreme, On the Radio relives all the most memorable sounds of the 1970s, from “I Will Survive” to “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Starring Miami vocalist and powerhouse Mimi J, On The Radio is a groovy trip down memory lane, featuring exciting costume changes and state-of-the-art video projections. On the Radio features dozens of ‘70s hits from the likes of ABBA, Carole King, and Stevie Wonder for a night that will have you stomping your platform boots.
Brought to you by Kevin Black, producer of the popular Cirquesco and Ballroom: South Beach Style, On the Radio is an eclectic mix of classic 1970s tunes, ranging from disco to soul. The thunderous voice of lead singer Mimi J dominates the show, inviting members of the audience to sing along to some of their favorite tunes. A former backup singer for Bobby McFerrin and Gloria Estefan, Mimi J has extensive musical theatre experience, appearing in national tours of Fame, Rent, and Smokey Joe’s Café, among others.
In On the Radio at The Lyric Theatre this season, Mimi J and her talented dancers will take you on a tour through the biggest hits of the disco decade. From “Let it Be” to “Proud Mary,” the musical revue will cover all the songs you know and love, and some you may have forgotten! It’s all about the music with On the Radio this December.
