Florida Authentica: Real Florida Adventures—Past & Present

Join award-winning authors Ron Wiggins and Mary E. Dawson
for an evening of education and entertainment sponsored by the Stuart Heritage Museum.

In “ Alligators! Outlaws! And Tourists! A trip back in time to the Martin County of 1914 ”, Mary E. Dawson, author of The River Way Home,” takes you on a journey through the alligator-infested swamps and pristine rivers of western Martin County a hundred years ago—to the City of Stuart in the year it was created. Through historical photographs and true stories, you’ll meet the real people and places that inspired her rollicking old-Florida adventure which was named Best Florida Fiction for 2013.

Then, Ron Wiggins, former features and travel columnist for the Palm Beach Post, who was twice named best columnist by the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors, will make you want to erupt out of your arm chair and go out into the real Florida and get your feet muddy up to your necks with “Florida Authentica: Your Field Guide to Unique, Eccentric, and Natural Marvels of the Real Sunshine State” -- a collection of photographs and humorous stories about places where old Florida still survives and the adventures you can still have there.
