Treasure Coast Youth Symphony Presents

Britannia and Beyond

IRSC Astronomy Professor In Concert
Is it astrological or astronomical?  The answer is astrological…but the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony is astronomical and may even have you seeing planets!

Join the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony on a journey from Britannia to beyond as the orchestra moves through time and space to present a program highlighting English composers of the twentieth century.   Four Scottish Dances by Malcolm Arnold, the English Folk Song Suite by Vaughn Williams, Uranus, the Magician, Venus, the Bringer of Peace, and Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets, composed by Vaughn Williams’ friend, Gustav Holst are all part of the evening’s travel.

A special side trip is hosted by Justin Gomez, the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony’s 2013 Concerto Competition Winner, who plans to take the orchestra on a Russian detour with his performance of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto.
