Antonin Dvorák: Violin Concerto
George Bizet: Symphony in C
David Conte: New Commission~World Premiere
The concert concludes with Georges Bizet’s Symphony in C with all its elegant melodies in the first movement to the driving rhythms in the Finale.
As part of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra’s Young Artist Discovery Program, this performance features the talented violinist, Marina Lenau performing arguably one of Dvorak’s most richly lyrical concertos.
This concert also honors the legacy and memory of longtime Atlantic Classical Orchestra supporter Shirley Zemsky, the ACO will world-premiere a new commission by David Conte who as a Fulbright Scholar is one of the last students of famed composition teacher Nadia Boulanger. Lenau, a star pupil of world-renown violinist Elmar Oliveira has appeared with the Kiev National Symphony Orchestra, Lynn Philharmonia and many others. While she has performed on the ACO Chamber series in 2011 and 2012, this performance marks her Atlantic Classical Orchestra solo debut.
