The Lyric Theatre Presents

Terry Myers Orchestra - A Tribute to Benny Goodman and The Andrews Sisters

Spend an evening savoring a salute to the King of Swing, starring clarinetist/band leader Terry Myers and his renowned Florida-based orchestra.  The songs say it all:  “Moonglow,” “Bugle Call Rag,” “King Porter Stomp,” “One O’Clock Jump,” and of course, “Sing, Sing, Sing.”

But the nostalgia doesn’t stop there.  Myers’ talented female vocalists, The Swing Sisters, will take you down memory lane as they recreate the sounds of The Andrews Sisters with numbers like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Nice Work if You Can Get It,” “Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen” and more.  Together with the orchestra’s featured male vocalists, The Swing Sisters will also pay tribute to the great Pied Pipers.

According to Myers, his band’s musical salute to Benny Goodman is also “a tribute to the wonderful generation (that) made the music popular in the first place.”

Throughout Myers’ dynamic career, he has performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (with Buddy Morrow), Bob Hope, Rosemary Clooney, Wayne Newton, The Temptations, Tommy Tune and Ray Charles.  Together with his outstanding orchestra, he’ll fill the Lyric with timeless music from the Swing Era.
