The Lyric Theatre Presents
The Bronx Wanderers
A vibrant mix of authenticity and youthful originality, The Bronx Wanderers take the biggest hits of the 1950s and 60s to a whole new level. The 5-person group recreates the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and Dion & the Belmonts to bring back the ballads and pop classics that you know and love. The Wanderers go beyond the classics, playing dynamic interpretations of contemporary songs for a Jersey twist on the some of the top Billboard hits.
The Bronx Wanderers got their start as a father-son Dion tribute band, comprised of members Yo’ Vinny and his sons Vinny the Kid and Nicky Stix. The trio’s natural musicianship and unbridled enthusiasm shot them into local popularity until 2008, when they exploded on the national music scene. Now joined by additional members guitarist Jimmy Fracassi and guitarist and saxophonist John Tutino, The Bronx Wanderers have reached a professional height, performing for major venues across the country. The group’s collective history in the business is extensive. Members Yo’ Vinny and Jimmy Fracassi have worked personally with Dion himself, touring and recording on albums such as “Return of the Wanderer” and “Fire in the Night.”
Their repertoire features some of the best and biggest tunes of the past 60 years, including hits from the Bee Gees, KC & the Sunshine Band, Tommy James, Bob Seger, and much more. Their New York-bred sound combined with the youthful energy of members Nicky Stix and Vinny The Kid make for a surprisingly fresh and spontaneous show. Vinny The Kid’s rousing tribute to Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” always seems to bring the audience to their feet. The Bronx Wanderers bring a wave of nostalgia with them this February at the Lyric Theatre.
Thank you for supporting The Lyric Theatre, see you at the show!
