Mary Higgins Clark a hit for House of Hope.
Best-selling author Mary Higgins Clark gave the gift of her time and displayed her talent for storytelling in a benefit for House of Hope at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart.
Thanks to the generosity of the author, the theater, the audience and many sponsors, the event raised $21,000 for House of Hope, a local nonprofit agency that provides food, clothing, furniture, financial assistance and life-changing case management services to Martin County residents in need.
Billed as “A Conversation with Mary Higgins Clark,” the event was organized by House of Hope volunteers Connie Bass, Michele Calder. After the show, Mary Higgins
Clark greeted hundreds of guests and signed books for them. Barnes & Noble provided a portion of the proceeds from the day’s book sales to contribute to the fundraiser.
