Decades in the Making!
This November, The Lyric Theatre presents a show that features the greatest hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s in Decades Rewind. The live concert experience includes an 8-piece rock band and 6 vocalists who cover some of the biggest tunes from the 1960s and beyond. This high-energy rock show promises to have you singing and dancing along, as talented performers cover your favorite artists, from Abba to Led Zeppelin. The show includes over 60 songs, videos of classic Americana, and over 100 costume changes. One of the co-founders of Decades Rewind is Petter Gatti. A veteran keyboardist, Gatti has been involved in the music industry since he was 8 years old, playing keyboard with the 1980s band Passage and working with Loud and Proud Records, which is home to artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rick Springfield. His partner and co-founder Mark Blinkhorn is a drummer who has played in groups as various as marching bands, orchestra, rock bands, and polka bands. The vocalists of Decades Rewind include Coya Jones, Ashley Renee, J.K. Miller III, Frank J. Edmondson III, and Wade Whiskey, whose diverse yet complimentary styles are accompanied by a brass and string rock band. Vocalist Coya Jones has performed in a variety of musical theatre performances including Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Katonga, and Rock of Ages. Accompanying Jones is vocalist Ashley Renee, whose classical training in opera has now been transformed into a love for R&B and soul. Vocalist J.K. Miller III has performed with many celebrated artists, including Jesse Stevenson, Michael Graves, and Men of Note among others. Completing the vocal segment of the show are Frank J. Edmonson III and Wade Whiskey, whose combined decades of vocal experience and expertise are staggering. The show has been recommended by many organizations around Florida, including the Orlando Sentinel who stated: “if you’re looking to rock out to some of the best tunes of the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s, get your ticket now for Decades Rewind.” Decades Rewind will perform at The Lyric Theatre on November 16 and November 17 at 7:00pm.
