Returning again this year to The Lyric Theatre is Serbian blues musician, Ana Popovic. 
Born in Belgrade in 1976, Ana Popovic started playing the guitar at the age of 15. Popovic first began performing live in 1995, when she formed the short-lived R&B group Hush. Shortly after the group disbanded in 1998, the musician formed the Ana Popovic Band. By 2009, Popovic had released the albums Still Making History and Blind for Love, which both reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Blues chart. Ana Popovic’s latest album, Can You Stand the Heat, was named USA Today’s Pick-of-the-Week and was prominently featured on National Public Radio. Most recently, Ana was invited to play in the Experience Hendrix Tour of 2014, which celebrated the music and legacy of the legendary guitarist. For her performance at The Lyric Theatre, Ana Popovic will perform classic blues covers as well as some of her original recordings. Grammy-Nominated Blues Musician 
Rocks the House
This February, The Lyric Theatre will host the Grammy-nominated blues musician John Hammond. Son of the successful record producer John H. Hammond, John Hammond taught himself the guitar at an early age. During the 1960s, Hammond played for a number of electric blues musicians in New York City, working with Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix among others. Recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, the guitarist has received four Grammy nominations throughout his career, winning the 1985 Grammy Award for his performance of “Blues Explosion.” His latest album, Timeless, celebrates his artistic milestone of reaching 50 years in the music industry. The album was recorded live at one of Hammond’s favorite venues, Chan’s in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. 
For his performance at The Lyric this February, John Hammond will perform traditional blues classics as well as original works incorporating slide guitar, harmonica, and vocals. John Hammond will perform at The Lyric Theatre
