As if this season at The Lyric Theatre wasn’t ALREADY packed with amazing performances, we’ve introduced seven new shows to our 2014-2015 line-up! Coming up first in November is one of our favorite Treasure Coast locals and Lyric regulars with “A Night at the Opera starring Lorrianna Colozzo.” Featuring the graceful, yet powerful voice of Lorrianna Colozzo, “A Night at the Opera” showcases some of the most memorable pieces from major operatic productions including “Carmen,” “Madame Butterfly,” and “The Barber of Seville.” Then, in December, prepare for a night of side-splitting laughter with “The Rabbi and the Italian.” Starring Rabbi Bob Alper and legendary stand-up comedian Dick Capri, “The Rabbi and the Italian” combines all the best Jewish and Italian humor for a night of clean comedy perfect for the whole family. The jokes keep coming in February when “Old Jews Telling Jokes” takes the stage. Based on the popular internet series created by Sam Hoffman, “Old Jews Telling Jokes” showcases five actors as they reinvent some of the most hilarious stand-up routines in Jewish comedic history. Keep an eye out this February for “More of Loesser,” a musical revue exploring the life and art of the legendary Broadway composer Frank Loesser. Created by Barry Day and starring Billy Stritch and Klea Blackhurst, “More of Loesser” offers a compilation of all of Frank Loesser’s most beloved hits as well as some of his lesser-known works. In March, the “Sauce Boss” is coming to town for another night of cooking and slide guitar. Rocking out on his ’53 Telecaster and 1948 Fender amp, the “Sauce Boss” performs hits such as “Great Big Fanny” and “Let the Big Dog Eat” while cooking up a pot of his world-famous gumbo. Just a few days later, we have “The McCartney Years” at The Lyric. Widely considered the foremost McCartney concert experience in the world, “The McCartney Years” covers the best of Paul McCartney’s music from his time with the Beatles to his famous Wings over America tour of 1976. And last but not least, we have “The Texas Tenors” coming on March 25th. Top four finalists on the 2009 season of “America’s Got Talent,” “The Texas Tenors” are swiftly becoming the most popular vocal group in America. With a combination of country, pop, and operatic styles, the tenors have sold out shows in over 20 countries including the UK and China. Now with seven new shows added to our 2014-2015 line-up, we’ve designed a diverse and exciting new season with a little something for everybody to enjoy.
